Derby County 0 - 1 Linby
Notts Girls League U10 Cup Final

Right from kick off the Derby girls put Linby under pressure, passing the ball well and battling hard for everything.

Derbys wingers making some good runs and putting in some good crosses. Derbys defence dealing well with everything that came their way, keeper Walton making good saves when called upon.

Towards the end of the first half a mistake by a Derby player in the area resulting in a hand ball, a penalty given and the half ending 0-1.

The second looked as if Derby were in for the equaliser, but it was the Linby defence that saved them. Derby again having the most possession of the ball and most chances, but unable to find the back of the net. Great team work all match.
Steedman working hard in all areas of the pitch. Heaney strong at the back and dealing well with any ball. Williamson making some great runs from the back and making some strong challenges.

Walton making some good saves and commanding her area well. Howard putting in some strong tackles and making good runs on the wing. Gillott strong and determined, putting in some good crosses. Gordon being so positive and determined and battling well. Greenwell working hard and passing well. Aherne strong and hard working on the wing. Johnson battling well for every ball and challenging well. Clewes making some good runs into the area and battling hard. Holden working hard at the back and taking on the whole Linby team, making runs from one end of the pitch to the other.

The Derby girls certainly deserved their place in the cup final and should be very proud of the way they played today. Great game girls and some outstanding football from all of you. Proud to have been your manager this season. Well done all of you.
I would also like to say a big thank you to all the parents, grandparents and other family members for their support to all the Derby under 10's.

Derby County 0 - 1 Linby
Notts Girls League

After playing brilliantly last week the Derby girls looked set to give Linby a good match.

Right from kick off it was clear the Derby girls were determined to make Linby fight hard for anything. Good football from both teams, but canceling each other out as they battled equally for every ball. Great defending and goal keeping all first half and holding Linby at 0-0 at half time.

Again it was end to end football all second half. The Derby girls working hard and never giving up. Shots going wide or being saved, also the Linby defence were dealing with most things well. The Derby girls playing some excellent football. Thinking the game was going to end 0-0, Linby got lucky when a ball looking to go wide crept in at the post. Final score 0-1.

The Derby girls deserved at least a draw from this game as they played excellent.

Well done Derby under 10's.

Steedman, Walton, Clewes, Aherne, Johnson, Greenwell, Gordon, Holden, Williamson, Heaney, Howard, Gillott.

Looking forward to the cup final, should be a great game.
