Thursday 6th March 2008 saw our 8th annual girls football festival for players in years 5/6. The festival,
which helps to promote girls football within the county, was our biggest ever with 47 teams taking part.
The event which was held at the JJB Soccerdome was jointly run by Derby
County Ladies FC, Derby County Football in the Community Scheme and was supported by Derby City Council.
After enthusiastic participation from all the girls, the final was eventually
contested by Brackensdale and Somerlea, with Brackensdale emerging victorious. Well done
to everyone who took part.
