Derby’s match against Wollaton Hall started
with Derby attacking straight at Wollaton’s goal mouth. Within 2 minutes a cross from a corner allowed Emma Williamson
to strike Derby’s’ 1st goal. After 4 minutes, Amy Sims ran from the Derby defence area, weaving in and amongst
the opposition players before finding the back of the net, 2-0 to Derby. A minute later a Derby corner gave Rebecca Clewes
the opportunity to make it 3 -0. Derby midfielder Laura Dexter was strongly supported by the defence team of Lydia Heaney
and Amy Sims who displayed confident and accurate passing. After 10 minutes, Derby had another corner which produced the team’s
4th goal, struck by Megan Pittman. Great teamwork and passing amongst the Derby players allowed Rebecca Clewes to score her
second and Derby’s 5th goal after 13 minutes. A minute later after a goalmouth scramble Megan Pittman lobbed the ball
over the top of the goalkeeper to make it then 6-0. Wollaton tried hard to fight back but Derby’s pressure was unrelenting.
Quick play ensued and Emma Williamson scored her 2nd goal to make it 7-0 after 17 minutes. |

Derby had plenty of chances at goal from corners and
runs both within the midfield and down both wings. After 19 minutes, a cross into the goal mouth gave Megan Pittman the chance
to make it 8-0 and her hat trick. Despite the continual presence of Derby in the Wollaton goal area, Wollaton continued to
fight hard and never gave up at producing great saves and in the final seconds of the first half a counter attack from Wollaton
gave Derby’s goalkeeper Melissa Clarkson her first opportunity to get involved in the game. |

The second half saw Derby facing a renewed determination
from Wollaton, who mounted several attacks while Olivia Shreeves maintained control in the defence area. However Derby fought
back with Lauren Dyer’s and Derby’s 9th goal after 24 minutes. Gemma Williams had a close miss with her well timed
shot narrowly missing the goal and after 29 minutes Grace King dribbled from the Derby end and finished left footed into the
net, making it 10-0. Lauren Taft showed tremendous determination when she ran with the ball, finishing a 1-on-1 with the Wollaton
keeper making the score 11-0 after 33 minutes. In the final minute of the match Lauren Dyer finished the game off with her
second well stuck goal which made the final score 12-0 to Derby County. Well
played Derby with particular credit to Wollaton Hall who never gave up fighting. Well done to both teams. |
